OK, here's the plot ...

In the year 1985, it's 38 years after end of World War II, a conflict that finally ended after the long and bloody invasion of Japan. James Hanssler lives a life routine, plodding urban drudgery, punctuated with fear of impending doom. His best friend was arrested and sent to a work camp after the Feds raided an NAACP meeting. His license to practice journalism is in danger of being revoked. And even worse, his favorite restaurant has can't afford the black market price of eggs. Now, a very attractive young woman has been giving him the eye. If he could only be sure she doesn't work for the Community Benevolence League ...

Something just isn't right.

And when he covers a routine fire, it starts a trip into the past to fix what was wrong, a correction that can very well result in his not being born.
